Metro Sport Reporter Monday 29 Jun 2020 6:43 pm Ajax have transfer agreements in place with Donny van de Beek, Andre Onana and Nicolas Tagliafico, meaning all will be allowed to leave this summer, manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed.
Van de Beek has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United, while Real Madrid also maintain an interest in the 23-year-old midfielder.
A move to Chelsea for goalkeeper Onana has been mooted, while Arsenal and the Blues have been credited with an interest in Tagliafico, so all transfers are possible.
Ten Hag is expecting Tagliafico to move on this summer and while he is not ruling out Van de Beek and Onana staying at Ajax for another season, he admits that agreements are in place to let them go should an acceptable offer come in.
‘The transfer market will start in August – the top leagues are now being played out, so the money flows are maintained,’ Ten Hag told Het Parool, via MEN.
‘The market value of players will be slightly depressed, but not much. Based on their performance and ambition, a number of our players also want to make the move abroad. ‘Agreements have been made with Andre Onana, Donny van de Beek and Nicolas Tagliafico, but it remains to be seen whether the market is indeed breaking loose.
‘For Onana and Van de Beek, another year of Ajax could certainly be an option, for Tagliafico it is slightly different because of his age.
‘In the preparation I am going to try Lisandro Martinez in that position. He has also played in midfield with us, but he is a defender.’
The asking price for Van de Beek is somewhat contentious, with a deal close to being agreed to take him to Real Madrid for around £49m, before the global pandemic struck.
The La Liga side are now wary of spending that money and Manchester United are willing to strike if they can get him for closer to £36m, according to the Times.
Ajax may have to accept that the initial price has lowered, but they will still be expecting over £40m for the Netherlands international
