Arsenal have confirmed captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal running until the summer of 2023.
Aubameyang has finally pledged his long-term future to the Gunners are agreeing terms on a blockbuster £250,000-a-week deal.
The 31-year-old had entered the final 12 months of his previous contract and was widely expected to leave Arsenal this summer.
Aubameyang‘s reservation about staying at Arsenal was wasting the best remaining years of his career outside of the Champions league after the club finished outside the top four by 10 points.
However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has worked tirelessly to convince Aubameyang to stay and now the club have backed the Spaniard by matching the forward’s contract demands.
Transfers to the likes of Barcelona, Inter and Manchester United have all been mooted in recent months but none were ever realistic options.
