Suspected Hoodlums disrupt factional PDP Congress in Oyo

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State who are believed to be an aggrieved faction today Saturday hold what can be discribed as the state parallel Congress.

The aggrieved members with over two thousand (2000) delegates were led in what started on a peaceful Congress at the Grace Hall of Jogor event center Oke-Ado Area of Ibadan by some of their leaders such as Hon. Muriana Ajibola representing Ibarapa North/Central Federal Constituency at the House of Representative Abuja, Hon. Ademola Mulikat,Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan, Engr. Femi Babalola (Jogor), Barrister Azeem Gbolarunmi, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon Ademola, Engr. Popoola, Omotoso, Chief Nureni Akanni, Alhaji Gani Dosu, Princess Aderonke Adedoja among others.

In his remarks, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe said, “It is clear that God is in our side, it is clear that the PDP is back to its rightful owners, we are the owner of our party in this state, we are the one that used to work for the success of the party, I urged you all to go and start working so that you can deliver your wards, local governments and this state in the future election.

“Those that underrated us we now see that we are capable, and we are so glad to have our party back, we have shown those people from other parties that wanted to hijack our party have been shown the way out. Aderibigbe said.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected factional chairman of the PDP, Hon. Micheal Okunlade we are all aware of why and how we arrived at this stage, like others that are here, I’m one of the numerous victims of the misgiving of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Hon. Okunlade who was voted in as the factional chairman of the party with over two thousand votes of the delegates further stressed that we struggled for him during the electioneering campaign but alas, today, we are his arch enemies, the governor met us in the party but decided to send us away from our home, promoting a pseudo-oligarchy that he struggles daily to build for his own political survival and personal aggrandizement…
