End SARS: Police warn against memorial protest

Kwara State Police Commissioner, Amienbo Tuesday Assayomo, on Monday, warned the youth and organisers of the proposed End SARS memorial protest in the state to shelve the idea.

The Police Commissioner, said the command will not accept any breakdown of law and order in the name of End SARS memorial protest.

“The situation in the state for now is not conducive for any procession, considering the security situation and the recent cultists activities which have heightened tension in the minds of some members of the public.

“Therefore, it can not be reasonable to allow any protest or procession,” a statement by the spokesman of the command, Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin stated on Monday.

“The ugly incidents of year 2020 Endsars protest, where precious lives of our people and valuable properties of the government and private individuals were viciously destroyed, is still fresh in our memories,” the statement added.
