Through life’s ocean
We swim
Waves rolling, splashing, smashing
Almost drowning us
Still, we swim
Seeking safety in numbers
Soon we find
Amid the riotous angry wave
No solace, security or salvation
That one can offer the other
. . .
Distance undiminishing
Angry waves
Toss us apart
Forcing each on himself to rely
Daring to see how we would go
Like an empty bottle on its surface before its fill
. . .
A gentle calm
Silences the raging sea
And sustains us each
Till we find a rock
