The stoning to death and burning of Deborah Samuel by some students of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto (SSCOE) over alleged blasphemy has continued to stir outrage from Nigerians on social media.
Angry Nigerians expressed shock and sadness over the barbaric action.
The sad development caused unsparing tweets, posts, comments.
They condemned the resort by Sokoto students to jungle justice while the hashtag #JusticeForDeborah trended on Twitter for several hours.
Also, a petition has been launched to get justice for Deborah, has gathered over 1,800 signatories.
The petition started by a journalist, Dotun Olawoye on change.org to Sokoto Government and the Nigerian Police Force, called for the prosecution of Deborah’s killers, stating that failure to do this will attract more deaths.
