Yellowish breast milk is nutritious, expert tells nursing mothers, harps on exclusive breastfeeding

Mrs Margaret Ignatius Offiong, Nurse, midwife and ward vocal person for the Primary Health Center, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has cautioned new mothers against throwing out colostrum or first milk, mostly yellowish, saying it is healthy for newborn. 

Mrs Offiong who observed sadly that some inexperienced mothers throw out the first milk for fear it might not be healthy for the baby, assures that the milk serves as a cleanser to the child’s intestines.
