Three corpses among the five people that drowned while escaping from a bandits’ attack at Chakumi village in Abaji Area of the FCT have been recovered by fishermen.
Daily Trust had reported that five persons, a housewife, drowned after a canoe capsized on Wednesday.
The Village Head of Chakumi,
Mohammed Magaji, who confirmed the recovery of the corpses, told our reporter on telephone that the four persons who survived the mishap were in a hospital in Dobi in Gwagwalada Area Council.
He further said, “A search for the remaining two bodies is ongoing by the fishermen.”
