Former Brazilian footballer Alexandre Pato has opened up about his career, reflecting on the high expectations he set for himself and the challenges he faced, particularly during his brief time at Chelsea. Pato, who made an impressive start to his career at AC Milan, once believed he was destined to win the Ballon d’Or.

“In my head, I was destined to win the Ballon d’Or,” he admitted. He further shared, “I started dreaming too much. In my head, I already held the Ballon d’Or.”

Pato’s time at Chelsea in 2016 was disappointing, with the forward playing only two matches. Despite training well, he was left puzzled by the club’s decision not to secure a permanent move. “I didn’t know they could refuse to take me,” he said.
