A scavenger was killed and three others injured in a bomb explosion on Taiwo Street, Idi-Araba, Lagos, after the victim attempted to dismantle military-grade grenades for scrap metal. Police confirmed the incident, stating the explosion occurred during the scavenger’s reckless handling of the ordnance.

A fatal explosion rocked Idi-Araba, Lagos, when a scavenger tampering with military grenades triggered a blast, killing him instantly and injuring three others. The Lagos Police PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, revealing the victim was attempting to split the ordnance for scrap metal. EOD teams secured the scene, collected evidence, and transported the deceased to the morgue.

The injured were hospitalized, while an investigation continues. Hundeyin warned against handling explosives, stating, “The explosion was caused by military-grade grenades tampered with by the scavenger.” Authorities urge public vigilance to prevent similar tragedies.
