Brothers headed to India nabbed with cocaine at Lagos airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two brothers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, with 5kgs of cocaine concealed in the walls of their suitcases while attempting to board a flight to India.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested two brothers, John Abugu, 43, and Kenneth Abugu, 31, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, on April 3, 2025. The brothers were caught attempting to board a flight to India with 5 kilograms of cocaine concealed inside their suitcases. The siblings claimed they were traveling for medical treatment.

On the same day, NDLEA officers also arrested 20-year-old Ghanaian-British national, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, at MMIA. He was caught with 36 parcels of Loud, a potent cannabis strain weighing 19.4 kilograms. Osei admitted he had picked up the drugs in Bangkok for delivery to Nigeria.

In Abia State, NDLEA agents arrested 75-year-old Nna Nnanna Felix on April 5, 2025, with 1.6 kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis. Additionally, 21-year-old David Chinemerem was apprehended on April 1, 2025, with 2,050 ampoules of pentazocine.
