Judith Okoli, a Nigerian nurse formerly practicing in the United States, has chosen to walk away from a high-paying job to seek personal fulfillment in Nigeria. Despite the financial comfort and stability her profession provided abroad, Okoli said she yearned for something more meaningful.

“Money isn’t everything,” she said, explaining her decision to return home. “I wanted something more purposeful. I needed to feel that I was living, not just earning.”

Her story has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, resonating with many professionals who feel unfulfilled despite material success. Okoli now advocates for people to listen to their inner calling, even if it means taking an unconventional path.

She added that although the decision wasn’t easy, it brought her peace. “For the first time in a long while, I feel like I’m where I should be.”
