French President Emmanuel Macron, during his visit to Cairo, called for the exclusion of Hamas from any role in governing Gaza. Speaking at a joint press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Macron stressed the importance of a political process that would ensure peace and stability in the region.
Macron stated, “Hamas must have no role in the governance of Gaza, and we must work towards an inclusive and peaceful solution that serves the interests of the people of Gaza.” His remarks align with France’s position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, advocating for a two-state solution and a political process that excludes extremist groups.
The French president also expressed support for Egypt’s efforts to mediate in the region and stressed the need for humanitarian aid to reach Gaza. Macron’s visit underscores France’s diplomatic involvement in addressing Middle Eastern conflicts.
