ABUJA — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has uncovered 585 forged A-level certificates in 2025, with four suspects arrested and 13 cases linked to Professional Registration Centers under investigation. Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede disclosed this during an April 2 staff meeting, per a transcript obtained by The PUNCH.

“This worrisome prevalence of fake A/L certificates prompted the creation of the Nigeria Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System,” Oloyede stated, condemning internal collaborators in institutions aiding the fraud. Police investigations revealed syndicates using forged IJMB certificates, with four suspects already apprehended.

The Registrar also flagged CBT center extortion of candidates, urging staff to uphold integrity. “Shun acts that undermine the Board,” he warned, as JAMB intensifies crackdowns ahead of the 2025 UTME.
