The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has directed its members nationwide to prepare for the takeover of Labour Party offices, citing Julius Abure’s refusal to comply with a Supreme Court judgment invalidating his leadership. NLC President Joe Ajaero stated: “Abure and his NWC are not recognized by law as LP leaders,” accusing them of “utter impunity and disrespect for Nigeria’s laws.”
The NLC condemned Abure’s continued defiance of the court ruling, calling his actions “a grave contempt” of the judiciary. The union emphasized that despite the Supreme Court’s clear pronouncement, Abure has persisted in claiming legitimate leadership, prompting the NLC’s planned intervention to enforce the judgment.
