Hundreds of women in Rivers State on Friday staged a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt, demanding the reinstatement of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s political authority. The protest, tagged “Bring Back Our Fubara”, began at the popular UTC Junction and moved through major streets in the city.

The demonstrators, dressed in black, carried placards with inscriptions such as “Fubara is our mandate” and “Respect the will of Rivers people.” They accused political actors of attempting to subvert the democratic choice of the electorate.

“We voted for Fubara, and we will stand by him. Nobody should undermine our votes,” one of the protesters said.

Security operatives monitored the procession to prevent disruptions, while traffic was temporarily affected along the protest route.
