2. Bandits Set Mosque, Health Centre, Houses Ablaze in Zamfara

Suspected bandits on Saturday night razed a Juma’at mosque, a Primary Healthcare Centre, and at least 10 houses in Biyabiki village, Tsafe LGA of Zamfara State. The attack, which occurred around 8:00 p.m., is believed to be a reprisal linked to loyalists of notorious bandit leader Adamu Aliero.

3. Gunmen Kill NSCDC Officer in Bayelsa Ambush

Gunmen suspected to be militants ambushed a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps patrol team in Igbomotoru community, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State on Friday. A yet-to-be-identified officer was killed during the attack, which occurred while the team returned from an anti-bunkering operation.

The Oyo State Police Command on Sunday confirmed the arrest of three suspects linked to the hijacking of a truck carrying 45,000 litres of petrol along the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road. Police spokesperson Adewale Osifeso said the recovered product belongs to NIPCO Petroleum Nigeria Limited.
