PDP governors’ stance on opposition alliance may aid Tinubu, says Dele Momodu

“Opposition leaders are very determined to work together this time around, the truth of the matter is that Atiku cannot do it alone, Peter Obi cannot do it alone, and Kwankwaso cannot do it alone, and whosoever wants to run.

Veteran journalist and politician, Dele Momodu, has criticised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum for rejecting the opposition coalition spearheaded by former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar. Speaking on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Monday, Momodu suggested the governors’ stance could be aiding President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Recall that Atiku, former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Labour Party candidate Peter Obi recently announced the formation of an opposition coalition. However, PDP governors, after a meeting in Ibadan, opted not to join.

“Opposition leaders are very determined to work together this time around,” Momodu said. “Atiku cannot do it alone, Peter Obi cannot do it alone… They have to find a way to pay the APC back in its own coin.”

Momodu warned that any PDP leader hesitant to align with the coalition might be acting out of fear, adding, “This thing is doable if they agree to work together.”
