Controversial singer Portable has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command over allegations of criminal defamation, threat to life, and incitement against fellow artist Saheed Osupa. The arrest followed a petition by Osupa, accusing Portable of using abusive language capable of inciting violence. Police spokesperson Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the singer was taken to Ilorin for investigation, with his statement recorded in the presence of legal representatives.
Operatives executed a court-issued warrant to arrest Portable in Abeokuta on Sunday after Osupa accused him of character assassination and breach of peace. “The petition borders on serious allegations,” the police stated, noting the suspect is detained pending court proceedings. Portable, known for his hit Zazoo Zeh, faces legal scrutiny over the feud.
