In a statement released on May 7, a spokesperson said the UK remains committed to facilitating legal migration while deterring abuse.

The statement comes amid reports that stricter rules may be introduced for countries with high visa overstay and asylum claim rates.
The High Commission highlighted ongoing collaboration with the Nigerian government, saying, “Our UK and Nigeria people-to-people links are strong and enduring.”
