AC Milan secured a crucial 3-1 win over Bologna in Serie A on Friday, keeping their European football hopes alive for next season.

The match served as a warm-up for next week’s Italian Cup final between the two teams. Bologna took the lead when Riccardo Orsolini scored his 13th goal of the season three minutes into the second half.

However, Santiago Gimenez’s brace and Christian Pulisic’s strike turned the game around for Milan. With this third straight league win, Milan moved up to eighth place, just three points behind fourth-placed Juventus, Roma, and Lazio.

Bologna, currently seventh, is also vying for a Champions League spot and aims to end its 51-year wait for a major trophy in the domestic cup final.
