“What is happening in the Labour Party today is nothing short of poetic justice,” he said, adding, “The candidacy of Peter Obi was built on injustice.”
Former Labour Party (LP) presidential aspirant, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, has accused the party’s leadership of betrayal, alleging he was unjustly removed from the 2022 primaries to pave way for Peter Obi’s emergence.
In a statement on Friday, Faduri claimed party officials, including Julius Abure and Lamidi Apapa, “connived” to hand the ticket to Obi in exchange for money.
“What is happening in the Labour Party today is nothing short of poetic justice,” he said, adding, “The candidacy of Peter Obi was built on injustice.”
Faduri, who leads the Rescue Movement for a New Nigeria, declared his intention to run for president in 2027, calling for a generational shift in leadership.
He insisted he revived the LP from political obscurity, yet was sidelined. “I chose patriotism over personal interest,” he said, revealing he had the legal standing to challenge Obi’s candidacy but refrained.
He criticised the LP’s current leadership as “transactional politicians,” and questioned their capacity to deliver real change.
