A Germany-based Nigerian woman, Adenike Obaoye, has accused German authorities of unlawfully retaining custody of her two young sons, Noah and David.
In a video posted on TikTok, Obaoye alleged that a family court in Berlin-Kreuzberg denied her request to take her sons, born in August 2021 and July 2022, to Nigeria.
“Done with the Family Court at Berlin-Kreuzberg and the German female judge refused to release my non-German children to travel to Nigeria as I demanded,” she said.
Obaoye maintained that the children are solely Nigerian and do not hold German citizenship. “I’m a single mother with sole custody of both children. Germans want to inherit children that are not theirs,” she added.
She further accused German authorities of attempting “state kidnapping” and vowed to continue her legal battle.
Efforts to contact Obaoye for clarification on the court’s decision were unsuccessful as she did not respond to messages as of press time.
