“This glitch raises questions,” says Abaribe.

The South-East Senate Caucus has expressed deep concern over the recent technical glitch reported by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), which disrupted exams in the region.
In a statement issued Saturday by caucus chairman Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, the senators described the glitch as “curious and highly suspicious,” warning against what they fear may be a deliberate attempt to undermine the future of children in the South-East.
JAMB reported the glitch affected 206,610 candidates in Lagos and 173,387 across South-East states. While welcoming the board’s rescheduling efforts and public apology, the caucus demanded that “a future recurrence will be unacceptable.”
Abaribe noted, “The so-called glitch… is enough to erode confidence and dangerously lower national pride among the future generation.”
The caucus called on JAMB to offer “firm assurance” such incidents would not reoccur, warning that politicizing education risks national unity.
