“I saw that Governor Otu is a different politician who is doing well in infrastructural development… PDP is divided, and they lack formidable leadership… My crossing over has nothing to do with fear of persecution.”

A prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Calabar Municipality, Ntufam Maurice Omin-Iso, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing Governor Bassey Otu’s infrastructural achievements. “Governor Otu is doing well in infrastructural development,” Omin-Iso said.
He criticised the PDP’s internal divisions, calling it a “sinking ship.” He denied defecting out of fear of persecution. “I have been a progressive. My crossing over has nothing to do with fear,” he added, praising APC’s performance at both state and national levels.
