The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has announced a ₦5 million reward for credible information leading to the recapture of seven inmates who escaped from the Ilesa Medium Custodial Centre, Osun State, following a wall collapse during heavy rainfall.

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has offered a ₦5 million reward for credible information that leads to the recapture of seven inmates who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun State.
In a statement on Wednesday, signed by Deputy Controller of Corrections and NCoS spokesperson Umar Abubakar, the Service urged members of the public to report sightings or knowledge of the escapees to nearby security agencies.
“In order to encourage public participation, the Nigerian Correctional Service wishes to inform the general public that a reward of ₦5 million is being offered… All information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and anonymity,” the statement read.
The escape occurred around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, following heavy rainfall that caused the collapse of the facility’s aging perimeter wall.
