“These men should bow their heads in shame,” Sani said. “They are the architects of the banditry, poverty, and hunger they now pretend to condemn.”
Former senator and activist Shehu Sani has slammed ex-Governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, branding them “architects of banditry and hunger” in Nigeria.
At a press conference in Kaduna, Sani criticized the duo over recent attacks on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing them of hypocrisy and failed leadership during the Buhari years.
“These men should bow their heads in shame,” Sani said. “They are the architects of the banditry, poverty, and hunger they now pretend to condemn.”
He accused El-Rufai of enabling banditry in Kaduna and dismissed his claim that “urban bandits” control Nigeria’s government as politically driven.
Sani argued both men had chances to fix the country but failed, saying: “They had immense power and influence. Instead, they left the region worse off.”
He praised current efforts to restore peace in Southern Kaduna and roads like Birnin Gwari and urged Tinubu to continue addressing northern insecurity while warning against “criticism rooted in bitterness.”
