Akpoti-Uduaghan, who accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, claimed that his aide defamed her character.
Two FCT High Courts have summoned Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Deputy Chief Whip Onyekachi Nwaebonyi over alleged sexual harassment, defamation, and rights violations against suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Justice Kutigi granted leave for Akpabio to be served court papers, while Justice Otaluka approved substituted service for Nwaebonyi, adjourning hearings to June 9 and 25, respectively. The suits follow Akpoti-Uduaghan’s N5 billion defamation claim against Nwaebonyi for alleging she had six children by different men.
Court documents reveal Akpoti-Uduaghan’s legal team argued “breach of fundamental rights” and “gender-based harassment” in the ex-parte motions. No responses yet from Akpabio or Nwaebonyi.
