Akash Vatsa, a recent passenger aboard Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, shared a chilling account of multiple malfunctions on the same aircraft that later crashed as Flight AI171.
Posting on X, he described faulty air conditioning, broken in-flight screens, and unresponsive crew call buttons. “Passengers were fanning themselves with magazines,” he noted. Akash deleted the videos but confirmed his concerns predated the crash, which occurred minutes after takeoff from Ahmedabad en route to London Gatwick.
The jet reached just 825 feet before descending into a residential area. Authorities are investigating, while Akash’s firsthand report adds a troubling layer to the incident.
