Mark Cuban says Bluesky has become “ruder and more hateful,” warning that its left-leaning culture and lack of diverse views are pushing users back to Elon Musk’s X.
Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban has criticized social media platform Bluesky, calling it “ruder and more hateful,” and warning that its “lack of diversity of thought” is pushing users back to Elon Musk’s X. Once a prominent Bluesky supporter, Cuban said the platform’s left-leaning user base has created a hostile echo chamber.
“The lack of diversity of thought here is really hurting usage,” he wrote, lamenting the decline of respectful debate.
He added: “Engagement went from great convos… to agree with me or you are a nazi fascist.”
Cuban’s remarks followed his repost of a Washington Post opinion piece warning that Bluesky’s ideological bubble could hurt liberal causes.
In response, some users attacked Cuban personally with profanity-laced messages, accusing him of pushing big tech interests.
Bluesky, which grew rapidly after Musk backed Trump’s 2024 reelection, now boasts over 30 million users. CEO Jay Graber acknowledged the platform’s ideological migration but defended its mission as a space for new communities.
