In a bold statement, the former senator says Africa’s neutrality and lack of nuclear ambition will shield it from devastation.
Former senator and Silverbird Group founder, Ben Murray-Bruce, has warned that a third world war is “inevitable,” citing rising tensions in the Middle East, Ukraine, and among global powers like the U.S., China, and Russia.
“We’re in big trouble and as long as we have the kind of leaders we have in the world today, I see World War Three coming and it’s going to be terrible,” he said in an interview with Global Affairs expert Dane Waters, as reported by Punch.
He attributed the looming threat to the ease of access to weapons and “trigger-happy” global leaders.
Despite the dire forecast, Murray-Bruce expressed confidence in Africa’s safety, particularly Nigeria’s. “Nobody is going to be fighting in Nigeria because we have no territorial ambitions… we’re friends with all our West African neighbours,” he stated.
He added that Nigeria may host displaced Westerners, “but we’ll make sure you all have your visas… we don’t want you to come as immigrants.”
