President Donald Trump drew criticism Saturday after invoking God repeatedly during a brief address confirming U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities. At the end of his speech, Trump said, “I want to just thank everybody, in particular, God. I want to just say we love you God… God bless the Middle East, God bless Israel, and God bless America.”
Critics questioned the sincerity of his remarks. Gen Z Democrat streamer Dean Withers tweeted, “No Trump, God Doesn’t Want Another War in the Middle East you Delusional F–k. Resign.” Others criticized Trump for mentioning Israel before the U.S., suggesting misplaced priorities.
Some likened him to the anti-Christ or accused him of exploiting religion. One user wrote, “This must be the most forced and uncomfortable ‘Thank you, God’ ever spoken in world history.”
Trump’s complicated religious history, rare church attendance, and past statements have fueled skepticism. “I was saved by God to make America great again,” he previously claimed.
