Delta Air Lines is significantly upgrading its Nigeria-US services with a renovated premium lounge in Lagos and next-generation aircraft deployments. Starting July 1, travelers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport will access a Nigerian-inspired luxury lounge, while October brings advanced Airbus A350-900s on Atlanta routes and A330-900neos for New York flights during peak season – offering 35% more seats and superior cabin comfort
Delta Air Lines is reinforcing its commitment to Nigerian travelers through substantial enhancements to both ground and flight experiences on its Lagos-USA routes.
Beginning July 1, passengers departing Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) will enjoy a completely redesigned premium lounge featuring Nigerian-inspired decor, high-speed Wi-Fi, gourmet dining, and private relaxation zones. The upgrade specifically targets Delta One customers and high-value travelers from key sectors like oil and gas.
The airline will deploy its most advanced aircraft starting October, with the flagship Airbus A350-900 operating the Lagos-Atlanta route, replacing older A330-200s. During peak holiday travel (December 2-January 16), the fuel-efficient A330-900neo will service the Lagos-New York route. These next-gen jets offer:
- Delta One Suites with sliding doors for privacy
- Premium Select cabins with enhanced legroom
- Advanced air filtration and noise reduction
- State-of-the-art entertainment systems
“These investments reflect our long-term partnership with Nigerian travelers,” a Delta spokesperson noted. “From our new lounge to aircraft offering 35% more capacity, we’re delivering unmatched comfort on transatlantic routes.”
