“I swear to God, if elected, whoever steals or engages in any corruption-related activities, we will declare war against them and they must be punished,” Atiku said.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has hinted at contesting the 2027 presidential election, pledging to wage a fierce battle against corruption if elected.
Naija News reports that Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 candidate, is a prominent figure in the newly adopted African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition but has not formally announced his defection from the PDP.
Speaking in Hausa in a video shared on his 𝕏 handle, Atiku declared: “I swear to God, if elected, whoever steals or engages in any corruption-related activities, we will declare war against them and they must be punished.”
Meanwhile, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike dismissed the coalition’s capacity to solve Nigeria’s problems, accusing opposition politicians of pursuing personal agendas while defending the Tinubu administration’s policies.
