A 22-year-old woman was rescued after being swept 20 miles by flash floods in Kerr County, Texas, which have killed at least 27 people and left dozens of girls missing from a summer camp. According to KENS 5, the woman was carried away at 4 a.m. and found four hours later clinging to a cypress tree near Lion’s Park Dam. “It was a true miracle. There’s no other way to explain it,” said Carl, a local resident who spotted her and flagged down police. She was rescued by boat after dropping 12 feet into the vessel and taken to Carl’s home for care. The woman, who suffered only minor injuries, had been camping with family and was separated from her parents in the floodwaters. She described being washed over four dams and dodging debris. Emergency services continue searching for 23 children from Camp Mystic, where floodwaters rose 26 feet in just 45 minutes.
