Michael Owen’s daughter is reportedly in talks to appear on the next season of Love Island.
The England legend’s 19-year-old, Gemma, has been lined up by bosses of the hit ITV2 show for its eighth season, which is set to start on June 6. And she is understood to have received the green light from her dad over joining the dating show this summer.
Gemma is Michael and childhood sweetheart Louise Bonsall’s eldest daughter, reaching stardom as an international dressage rider and even representing Great Britain at the European Championships. Having set up her own swimwear company OG Beachwear during the first lockdown, she could now benefit from the exposure the dating programme offers.
A source told The Sun: “Gemma isn’t just beautiful, smart and single, but she has one of the country’s best-loved sports stars as her dad. IITV bosses are scrambling to get her signed up for this year’s Love Island.
“However, if talks are successful, it’s likely to be a huge payday for Gemma too. Weeks spent lounging about in a bikini is going to give her beachwear line the sort of boost most firms can only dream about and make her a huge star herself.”
