There are indications that terrorists in large numbers attacked a military checkpoint located around Zuma rock area Madalla in Niger state and shot sporadically.
At the time of filling this report, Blueprint couldn’t ascertain if they were casualties as a result of the attack.
However, Nigerian soldiers deployed from Zuma barracks immediately faced the attackers and subsequently dispersed them after they initially moved along the Abuja-Kaduna highway to cause panic, Blueprint reports.
Policemen according to eyewitnesses were also deployed.
As a result, motorists were forced to stop on the road in anxiety throughout the duration of the exchange between the troops and terrorists.
The latest attack is happening a few days after the Presidential Brigade squad faced similar circumstances around the Bwari area, located within the Federal Capital Territory.
According to Defence headquarters, up to 30 terrorists suffered casualties as the guards took intense battle with the attackers in nearby bush.
