Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag refused to speak to Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill ahead of their weekend trip to Southampton.
Cotterill was sent to United’s Carrington training ground by Sky for Ten Hag’s press conference today (August 26) but was told shortly after arriving that his questions would not be answered. He asked away regardless and was subsequently snubbed by Ten Hag.
It’s thought the Dutchman took issue with Cotterill after he was doorstepped by him at Crystal Palace, where he’d been watching on from the stands on the last day of the 2021/22 season. The reporter was unsuccessful in his attempts and told the security to stop pushing him away.
After being blanked by Ten Hag for the second time, Cotterill said: “I’m surprised. It was just two people doing their job but I’m assuming he was offended by it.
“The thing at Palace was him doing his job and not commenting and me doing my job and trying to get a comment. I’m only guessing that was the reason…
