PSV Eindhoven are holding out for a big offer for Southampton and Leeds United target Cody Gakpo due to the fee Ajax received for winger Antony from Manchester United.
Gakpo’s future at PSV remains under the scanner as the winger has serious interest from the Premier League.
Southampton are still working on getting a deal over the line for Gakpo, having seen the Dutch side reject their initial offer for him, while Leeds are also keen.
However, it is likely that a huge bid is needed for PSV to let go of Gakpo in the remaining hours of the transfer window.
According to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, PSV want to earn as much as possible from Gakpo’s exit and are seeking a big fee for him having seen how much Manchester United were willing to pay Ajax for Antony.
The Red Devils forked out €100m to secure the Brazilian’s services from Ajax earlier in the window.
Gakpo’s current suitors are only willing to pay up to €35m so far, but the Eindhoven club want a lot more than that figure…
