STATE chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have declared the suspension of the party’s presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu as null and void.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party suspended Kachikwu on Friday over alleged anti-party activities.
His suspension was announced in a statement released by the party’s Deputy National Chairman (Politics), Bamidele Ajadi.
Kachikwu was accused of circulating a defamatory video “which was intended to disparage and impugn the integrity of ADC and its national officers”.
Ajadi also accused Kachikwu of making statements that contravened the values of the ADC.
The ADC official further accused Kachikwu of “crass irresponsibility, gross indiscipline and disingenuous scandalisation’’ adding that he attempted to blackmail the party’s executives to do his bidding.
According to Ajadi, such attitude was improper for someone who wants to be the president of Nigeria.
