The founder, Glory Land International Christian Center, Bishop (Dr.) Dola Adeoye Salako has expressed concern over the worsening security situation in the country calling on stakeholders to rise to the occasion.
The clergy who spoke at the event marking his 60th birth anniversary in Osun State lamented that frequent attacks on churches is taking toll on evangelism.
The ceremony was graced by eminent personalities including the Osun State governor- elect Senator Adeleke Adeleke.
Bishop Salako who commended the efforts of the governors of the South-West States for the establishment of Western Nigeria Security Networks (codenamed Operation Amotekun ) also urged them not to rest on their oasis until the region is free from bandits, terrorists and kidnappers.
Specifically, Salako tasked the governors to collaborate with the Nigeria Police inorder to expand the scope of operations of Amotekun operations.
The man of God disclosed that “it’s high time Amotekun allow to carry heavy weapons that can match the bandits and terrorists firepower ”
“I give kudos to the governors of the South West for the establishment of Amotekun but I am not happy with the restrictions in the level of their operations. They should be licensed to carry guns, I mean sophisticated weapons. They should work hand in hand with the NPF.
