Will Smith turns 54: Looking back at his best (and worst) moments

Will Smith became a trending name a few months ago because of his very public slapping of Chris Rock, but the truth is that he has been one of the most popular  and beloved actors in Hollywood for years. 

Although his fame and impact have dropped significantly since that moment, he was once one of the most acclaimed faces in film, music and television.

On Sunday, September 25th, he is celebrating his 54th birthday.

Will Smith’s most outstanding work

Among some of Smith‘s most outstanding titles, we can highlight, without a doubt, ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. 

It was his first big role and, although at first it was not supposed to be “that big a deal”, it ended up becoming one of the major landmarks of his career. From that moment on, his career took off with great force, participating as a leading actor in films such as ‘Bad Boys’, ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Men in Black’, for example.

These were some of his most outstanding feature films. So much so that it is impossible not to leave out some films with a lot of pull, but there are many, from ‘I, Robot’ to ‘Aladdin’ through ‘Ali’, ‘Pursuit of Happiness’, ‘Seven Pounds’ and ‘Hitch’, for example.

His greatest moments

For better or worse, Will Smith has had all kinds of moments. The slap is the most recent, but we can’t forget his visits to ‘El Hormiguero’ – in Spain it was a huge moment -, the dance with Alfonso Ribeiro on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ or his reunion with the rest of the stars of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’.

We could also highlight his Grammy award for ‘Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It’, his Oscar for Best Actor in 2022 (the same night as the slap) or his nomination for ‘Ali’ in 2002…
