Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is on the doorsteps of reaching quite an impressive feat in his UEFA Champions League career.
Overall, Mbappe has scored 36 goals in 55 career matches played in the Champions League competition, with three of them coming in this season’s group stage.
If Mbappe can score a combined four goals in his next five Champions League appearances, he would then become the second player ever to reach 40 goals in 60 or fewer matches played in the competition. Ruud van Nistelrooy holds the record for the fastest to reach 40 Champions League goals, as he did so in 45 such matches played.
This sure would be quite an impressive feat for Mbappe considering that both Lionel Messi (61 matches) and Neymar (65 matches) were not able to achieve this feat.
