Neighbours have today paid tribute to ‘lovely, happy’ Ann Dunn who was mauled to death in a dog attack in Liverpool yesterday.  

Police were called to reports of a dog attack at a home in St Brigid’s Crescent in Vauxhall, Liverpool, on Monday afternoon.

The 65-year-old mother was pronounced dead at the scene.

Merseyside Police said that a 31-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of owning a dog dangerously out of control and was in custody.

Five American bulldogs found at the home have been ‘humanely destroyed’, they added.

Ms Dunn’s neighbours have paid tribute to the ‘lovely, happy lady who was always very friendly’.

Resident Kathleen Ladd, 72, said: ‘I’ve known her family for many years because her husband’s mother knew my mother’s friend.
