Terrorists invaded Gulu Community in the Lapai local government area of Niger State around 2am on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the terrorists attacked Abdulsalam Abubakar General Hospital and slaughtered a man who worked at the hospital.
The terrorists also kidnapped no fewer than 10 people during the Tuesday morning attack.
Among the kidnapped victims were a medical doctor, identified as Ben, and a pharmacist working in the hospital.
A source, Abu Qudama who narrated the incident on Facebook said due to this attack, scores of Gulu residents had started fleeing the community to nearby communities for fear of another attack.
He narrated, “I just woke up to a call that this morning, Gulu Community under Lapai local government of Niger State has been attacked by the bandits, and in the process of this ungodly act, a man who is a staff of Gulu General Hospital has been slaughtered and many others were kidnapped by the bandits. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajeun.
“How on earth will people be so heartless to the extent that a human being will be slaughtered like an animal? This is one of the most devastating and heartbreaking news that confronted me this month.
“However, in a bid to seek their safety, people from the Gulu community have since been migrating to neighbouring villages and the Lapai metropolis. On this note, I call on the government officials and security agencies to take a bold step in other to curtail this sacrosanct to avoid further penetration.
“To this end, I pray may everyone who lost their lives on the process find peace on their grave. Ameen. May Allah restore peace in our state, community and Nigeria at large.”
