The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Police Force had announced the arrest of a man possessing over 100 Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).
Naija News understands that the arrest of the suspect was confirmed to newsmen today at the command Headquarters in Sokoto.
Addressing journalists, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Muhammed Ussaini Gumel, said the command is yet to trace the actual owners of the PVCs.
Gumel said it is believed that the owners of the PVCs are not all residents of Sabon Birnin, where the suspect was arrested.
He, thereby, called on state citizens, especially those with cases of missing PVCs, to visit the command headquarters, where copies of the cards will be displayed for owners to identify and reclaim them.
The state police boss assured that the suspect would be prosecuted only after getting testimonies and proof of owners who show up at the command headquarters to claim their PVCs.
