Zelensky insists missile that hit Poland WAS Russian

Volodymyr Zelensky has insisted the fatal explosions that killed two in Poland close to his nation’s border were caused by a Russian missile, despite several world leaders suggesting it was likely of Ukrainian origin.

The Ukrainian president was quoted by Interfax Ukraine news agency as saying on Wednesday he had no doubt that an explosion that killed two people in Poland was not caused by a Ukrainian missile.

‘I have no doubt that it was not our missile,’ he said, adding that he believed Tuesday’s explosion was caused by a Russian missile, and that he had based his conclusions on reports from Ukraine’s military which he ‘cannot but trust’.

Zelensky also said he believes that Ukraine should already have been given access to the site of the explosion to be involved in the analysis of debris to determine the origin of the suspected missile. 

‘Do we have the right to be in the investigation team? Of course,’ he said.
