World Cup faces ANOTHER row as Harry Kane told not to wear 'OneLove' rainbow armband or face booking

The already-scandal hit World Cup in Qatar face another row last night as it emerged England‘s captain Harry Kane could face a booking and potential suspension if he goes through with his decision to wear the OneLove armband in a mark of equality for the LGBT+ community.

The start to the tournament dissolved into something of a farce on Sunday evening after a series of controversies in recent days, including a last minute alcohol ban, a largely empty stadium for the opening ceremony and thousands of people involved in a crush to enter FIFA fan zones.

The English captain had wanted to wear the armband to show solidarity with LGBT+ people following controversy over having Qatar as hosts – homosexuality is illegal in the country and can even be punishable by death.

But FIFA has strict rules about apparel that can be worn by players and the armband is reportedly not allowed under the code.
