Football legend Pele has been reportedly moved to palliative end-of-life care in hospital.
Pele returned to hospital earlier this week with reports suggesting he was confused while chemotherapy for bowel cancer is believed to be having no impact.
And Brazilian outlet Folha now report the 82-year-old will no longer be subjected to invasive tests or treatment. They add that Pele continues to receive pain relief though his chemotherapy has been suspended.
Pele has been in and out of hospital for the majority of the year with one of the greatest ever players reportedly having undergone plenty of tests this week.
Pele was reportedly taken to Albert Einstein hospital, in the south zone of Sao Paulo, on Tuesday by his wife Marcia Aoki and a caregiver.
It’s claimed he has swelling all over his body with medical staff confirming the condition of anasarca (generalized swelling) while the footballing icon was also diagnosed with mental confusion.
