According to AFP the Moroccan national airline Royal Air Maroc has cancelled several flights between Casablanca and Doha for Morocco fans wanting to travel to Qatar for the Atlas Lions’ World Cup semi-final against France this evening. This is reportedly due to “restrictions put in place by Qatari authorities”.
The AFP source says that 2100 passengers, the majority of them Morocco fans, have been impacted – but with 23 other flights unmodified. In Doha, Moroccan fans on the first flights explained that the Moroccan FA had promised them tickets which they did not yet have when they arrived. These flights are being operated by Qatar Airways.
